Are you a Frida Kahlo fan?
I don’t know how you feel, but I think Frida Kahlo is a woman that needs to be remembered. She had a will and a power, and a desire to live life that you can only admire.
Being disabled myself I know all about fighting against your body and being responsible for your life as Frida did.When Frida Kahlo died in 1954, her husband Diego Rivera ordered her clothes to be locked up for 15 years.Three years later Diego passed away.An old friend of the couple, Dolores Olmedo became the manager of their house and kept all of Kahlo’s belongings secretly guarded under lock and key for decades until she too passed away in 2004.– If you’re lucky enough to be in Mexico City before November 22, 2013 you will have the wonderful opportunity to see the magnificent clothes among lots of other beautiful things of an icon and extremely important female artist in the world of art.“Appearances Can be Deceiving: The Dresses of Frida Kahlo” will show at Museo Frida Kahlo: Casa Azul in Mexico City until Nov. 22, 2013
